Bob Malm: Wartburg Watch Tweet Covering His Claim that I am a “Domestic Terrorist” Seen More than 200,000 Times

There’s an old adage in PR: Sometimes, the best way to argue against someone is to use his own words against him.

That’s true, and I am circulating widely Bob Malm’s false and ludicrous courtroom claims that I am a “domestic terrorist.”

As of yesterday, my tweet announcing the Wartburg Watch article on this topic has been seen more than 200,000 times, with a focus on audiences in the 20-30 age group.

Jeff “Sugarland” Chiow’s Inflammatory Rhetoric Comes Back to Bite Planet Malm

Last Sunday, when I got home from protesting at Dysfunctional Bob’s favorite intersection (which he fondly refers to as “Dysfunction Junction”), I discovered something startling: Hits on my blog had soared to more than 400 an hour during my hours of protest. The secret? I was carrying my sign alerting the public to the bogus claim, originating with Sugarland Chiow and Dysfunctional Bob, that I am a “domestic terrorist.”

Thinking the upsurge in hits might be an anomaly, I checked to see if one of my social media posts had gone viral. While traction there was good, neither did anything exceptional jump out at me.

My next step was to check others days when I used my domestic terrorism signage. Turns out results were consistent; hits surged on those days as well.

So, drivers going by when I’m carrying the domestic terrorism sign don’t give me the thumbs up or other signs of appreciation. But they sure do pay attention.

The lesson? Be careful if you’re using overheated rhetoric in court. The judge likely will, in his or her mind, slap the label “asshole” on you and either ignore your antics, or slap you with sanctions. Meanwhile, members of the public may slap the label “asshole” on you and pay attention to you, but in the worst possible way.

Small wonder Grace Episcopal is imploding.

Grace Episcopal, Church of the Domestic Terrorist

You know, it’s not every day that churches get in the news. In fact, these days, with the declining role of churches in society, it’s hard to get coverage, except in the local community rags.

But Grace Episcopal in Alexandria has a very special claim to fame. Per rector Bob Malm, and his attorney Jeff Chiow, the church has been threatened by “domestic terrorism.”

That’s right. That shows how important the church is, as the only other church here in the US that has been threatened by terrorists is the National Cathedral. (There, some wackadoodle from the Islamic State issued a threat during Christmas 2017, showing the Cathedral erupting in flames and suggesting he or she would show up in Manhattan. The latter somewhat diminished the credibility of the threat to the Cathedral, located in DC).

So, in recognition of Grace’s unique status, here’s a meme that Bob Malm can use next time he’s in touch with the news media.
